Bayern Munich struggled to get much going offensively against Aston Villa during its 1-0 loss in the Champions League.
One of the reasons why Bayern Munich could not score goals was because it had to deal with Aston Villa’s compact defensive shape. In particular, that seemed to affect Harry Kane’s ability to get shots off. When asked about getting Kane more involved in the attack, head coach Vincent Kompany did not seem all that concerned about it.
“For me the priority is that we create chances as a team, and I think we did that today. Harry has scored 11 goals this season – there are always moments like this. He will score goals again very soon,” Kompany remarked (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Kane has been productive this season, but the last two matches — against markedly better opponents than the ones Bayern Munich had faced earlier — have created issues for the Bayern Munich attack.
Can the Bavarians find a way to get Kane going against what will surely be a fleet of buses to be parked on the pitch over the course of the rest of the season?
