Could Leroy Sané leave Bayern Munich on a free? At least one Premier League club is rumored to be hoping so.
The report comes from Mick Brown, a former chief scout in the EPL, who made his remarks for Football Insider.
As captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Former Premier League chief scout Mick Brown tells @footyinsider247 Newcastle United will push to reach an agreement with Leroy Sané over a free transfer next summer: “Given their financial situation as it has been, they’ll be pushing to get this one over the line. I know clubs have been tracking him since [he left City]. I’ve heard Newcastle are among those clubs who will be looking to bring him in, and I’d be surprised if they didn’t at least try to get it done. Given his availability on a free, they’ll be looking to get him in with no outgoing fee which would be perfect for their finances.”
Apparently the Magpies have been following Sané ever since he joined Bayern from Manchester City in 2020. Could this really happen?
BFW Analysis
This sure sounds like a dream…from Newcastle United’s perspective only. After playing Champions League football every season at Bayern Sané may have higher ambitions than NUFC, and he has appeared happy in Bavaria. But with the emergence of left-footed winger Michael Olise, Sané may find tough competition for places if he stays.
Sané’s contract expires in June of 2025.
