Away fans will once again be banned from Le Classique after Bouches-du-Rhône police prefecture published a banning order on Paris Saint-Germain fans accessing the Stade Vélodrome to watch their team play Olympique de Marseille on the 27th of October.
RMC Sport have reported that this banning order will soon be followed by a travel ban on supporters of Les Parisiens from the Ministry of Interior. This ban does not come as a surprise as PSG fans have not been allowed to attend the away fixture in Le Classique since 2015.
Stadium bans are a common feature in high-profile fixtures in the French calendar due to fears over crowd troubles between the supporters of rival clubs. Last season there was a brief relaxation of this when Olympique Lyonnais supporters were allowed to attend the Vélodrome for the Choq des Olympiques.
However, the game was abandoned when the Lyon coaches carrying the players and fans were attacked by Marseille supporters en route to the stadium.
