Adam Aznou is a product of FC Barcelona’s academy, famous for producing world-class players who would go on to be players of the senior team. He could have waited for his chance to break into the first team but decided to entertain offers from different clubs, ultimately choosing to sign for Bayern Munich.
“A big club with such a huge history as Bayern cannot be turned down,” Aznou declared (via @Lions_talk). “They offered me an attractive project, and coming from a humble family, they helped me financially. Therefore, I chose Bayern.” He doubled down on that when asked if he would’ve stayed at Barca instead and got first-team minutes (like Alejandro Balde). Jamal Musiala also joined Bayern from Chelsea FC aged 16.
Lamine Yamal, a key player for Barca, opted to represent Spain instead of Morocco. Yamal and Aznou are known to be close friends, hinting at the former trying to get the latter to choose Spain: “Lamine and I have spent many years together, and we’ve always had a close relationship. We enjoyed ourselves both on and off the field. Well, he made a decision to represent Spain, and I always supported him just as he supported my decision.”
