Germany is back in action for its second international period of the 2024/25 season.
Julian Nagelsmann and company sit first place in Germany’s Nations League table but are tied on points with the Netherlands, whom they play on October 14th. First up is Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 11th.
With numerous stars missing out this time due to injury or fitness issues, Nagelsmann will have his work cut out for him. But the road to the FIFA 2026 Men’s World Cup has already begun and there is little time to waste. The first task will likely be to determine Manuel Neuer’s successor at goalkeeper — and Bayern Munich loanee Alexander Nübel (currently at VfB Stuttgart) and TSG Hoffenheim veteran Oliver Baumann are on tap this time, set to get one game apiece with FC Barcelona’s Marc-André ter Stegen out with a long-term injury.
