Bayern Munich has made an annual habit of stealing rising players from other Bundesliga clubs. At the moment, the number one target is Bayer Leverkusen and German international Florian Wirtz.
Bayern is also in hot pursuit of Wirtz’s teammate, defender Jonathan Tah. Bayern has long been perceived as the only option for Tah, but a recent report from Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) suggests otherwise.
Bayern are no longer leading the race for Jonathan Tah. Real Madrid are interested and have spoken to the player’s camp. Barcelona are also interested. The player will reassess his situation and could make a decision around January with a view to a free transfer next summer.
Tah will be 29-years-old by next summer’s transfer window. This means that he would slot in as a replacement for Eric Dier as a third center-back option but is unlikely to supplant Dayot Upamecano or Kim Min-jae as a starter.
