One current Chelsea player is reportedly already unhappy with his bit-part role at the club and will take matters into his own hands if things do not change soon.
That is according to a report that has come out this week ahead of Chelsea facing Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
EXCLUSIVE! Surprise Chelsea player impressing training ground staff, but not for his quality….
The international break is over, and focus has turned back to the Premier League again and domestic football being back.
It was quite a good international break for some Chelsea stars, including attacker Christopher Nkunku who came back into the national team fold with France, and scored a goal on his first selection back in the starting lineup.
But according to Football Insider, things are not all rosy for Nkunku right now, and he is not happy being a backup choice at Chelsea.
Nkunku ready to push for Chelsea exit already
The report claims Nkunku could push for a Chelsea exit next summer if he doesn’t break into the first eleven.
Their sources say Nkunku could take matters into his own hands next year as he is “unhappy” to play a backup role to the club’s other forwards.
Nkunku has pretty much been scoring goals for fun at Chelsea so far this season after missing the majority of it through injury last season. But he has been forced to do most of his scoring off the bench, or in some rare starts in domestic cups or in Europe.
The 26-year-old is obviously going to be wanting to play more football, but he is in competition with the likes of talisman Cole Palmer for that 10 role, and Nicolas Jackson for the 9 position. So he has a lot of work to do to break in.
His performances have been superb though, so you can understand if he is growing frustrated, should the report be true.
