Bayern Munich youngster Aleksandar Pavlović broke into the Bundesliga scene last season under Thomas Tuchel. The former Bayern ball boy quickly earned a reputation as an enforcer in the midfield, racking up six yellow cards in 19 appearances. But as the season progressed, Pavlović proved that he was more than just a wrecking ball.
When Joshua Kimmich moved to right back to cover the defensive deficiency, Pavlović established himself as the team’s primary distributor in the midfield. Pavlović finished the season with a 95% completion rate on short and medium passes, along with a staggering 82% completion rate on long passes.
In the 2024/25 campaign, Pavlović has raised the bar again.
Only three Bundesliga players have a higher completion rate this season and all three are defenders.
- Patrick Erras, Holstein Kiel (95%)
- Niklas Süle, Borussia Dortmund (95%)
- Jonathan Tah, Bayer Leverkusen (94%)
Pavlović has started eight of nine matches for Bayern and his reliability in possession and the midfield is a big indicator of how he quickly earned the trust of Vincent Kompany and Julian Nagelsmann.
