Beaten by Monaco in the standings, Paris Saint-Germain had no room for error this evening against Strasbourg. With the start of the game from the outset of Senny Mayulu, Warren Zaire-Emery, and even Bradley Barcola, Luis Enrique had bet on the youth card for this 8th day of Ligue 1. The first big action of the game was in favor of the capital club. Parisian midfielder Senny Mayulu (18), who was progressing in the middle, managed to hit the ground from 25 meters from the left. His ball finally hit Petrovic’s left post (12th). However, it didn’t take much time for the young player to adjust his sights. In the 18th minute, thanks to a nice pass from Bradley Barcola, Mayulu struck from the area to the left of the goal and opened the score (1-0).
Returning from the locker room, Paris managed to quickly double the lead, thanks to a well-inspired Marco Asensio (47th, 2-0). The reduction in the score of the former Parisian, Sekou Mara, at the hour of play (58th, 2-1), will however not be enough to restart the Strasbourg match. After a penalty not awarded by the referee, Bradley Barcola managed to get his team ahead. On a superb low pass from Willian Pacho, the former Lyonnais sent a magnificent strike which hit the post and finished in the right corner of the goal (66th, 3-1). At the end of the match, Kang-In Lee increased the score (90th, 4-1), thanks to good work from Joao Neves, the club’s best passer (5 assists). In stoppage time, PSG finally confirmed its excitement on set pieces, suffering a further reduction in the gap (93rd, 4-2), this time by Daouda Diongue. Thanks to its evening success, Paris regains the advantage over ASM. The Ile-de-France club thus takes first place in the championship on goal difference (20 points). For its part, Strasbourg is in 7th place with 10 points at the end of the day.
