As Bayern Munich plans its future, the Bavarians could be keeping a close eye on FC Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado. This is not the first time that Bayern Munich has been linked to one of Barca’s prized, young midfielders.
In the past the Bavarians have been rumored to have interest in both Pedri and Gavi. Now, Casado is — allegedly — in their transfer crosshairs:
Bayern Munich will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Barcelona midfield mainstay Marc Casado in the 2025 summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Marc Casado is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The Bavarian giants are scouring the market for a holding midfielder heading into the 2025 summer transfer window. So, the 21-year-old Barcelona midfield mainstay has emerged as a target for Die Roten.
Bayern Munich’s interest in Marc Casado is understandable. The Bavarian giants are in a spot of bother over the long-term future of Joshua Kimmich. The German international is in the final nine months of his contract at the Allianz Arena, and the two parties are yet to secure an agreement on a new deal.
The situation has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, including Barcelona. While Bayern Munich will look to tie Kimmich to a new deal, the Bundesliga heavyweights are keeping their options open. So, Casado has emerged as a viable target for Die Roten.
The 21-year-old Spanish midfield prospect has the potential to become a long-term asset in the middle of the park for Bayern Munich. However, convincing Barcelona to part ways with the Spaniard will be a tall order, considering the youngster’s impact this season.
Over the summer, Federico Chiesa made the jump to Liverpool FC, but it seems like not everything is going to plan. Some reports indicate that the Italian attacker might want to return to his homeland, with AC MIlan and AS Roma being potential destinations:
Federico Chiesa has been linked with a loan return to Italy despite only joining Liverpool this year, with AC Milan, Roma and Inter all potential destinations.
Chiesa has only made three appearances for Liverpool across all competitions and has registered one assist. Clearly, the 27-year-old would like to be more involved.
Bayern Munich visited VfL Bochum and took care of business, though it was not in an overly convincing way. Dominant? Yes. Convincing? Well…it was poor competition, so it is tough to say. At least Bayern Munich did what it needed to do.
At this stage, the Bavarians should be overwhelming an overmatched side like VfL Bochum, but that did not happen. Let’s dive into it with this combination of Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show / Flagship Show:

Former Bayern Munich prospect Kenan Yildiz says his move to Juventus came down to this — the Italian side offered more chances to progress:
Yildiz was asked why he decided to swap Bayern Munich for the Bianconeri as a teenager in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Because Juventus offered me better opportunities,” he replied. “The project was convincing and I felt at ease since the first moment.”
The 19-year-old also explained how his move to Turin coincided with a tactical evolution, as he was required to play more advanced.
“I always played in midfield in the youth sides, then they moved me on the flank at Juventus. I play wherever they need me to,” he added.
Juventus’ Turkish forward #10 Kenan Yildiz (C) celebrates scoring his team’s first goal during the UEFA Champions League 1st round day 1 football match between Juventus FC and PSV Eindhoven, at the Juventus Stadium in Turin on September 17, 2024.
Yildiz is still to find his first Serie A goal this season, although he scored on his Champions League debut to pave the way for his side’s 3-1 win over PSV Eindhoven.
“Football isn’t just about goals,” he said. “It’s better when you score, but I focus more on my play and what the coach asks me.”
Bayern Munich ran the gamut of emotions from “We’re back!” during a 4-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart to “Oh, no!” after getting dismantled 4-1 by FC Barcelona in the Champions League.

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is irate over his team’s 4-0 throttling at home against FC Barcelona over the weekend.
Because of that, Pérez is casting his wandering eye over toward Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso (who is working through some issues this season with Die Werkself):
Florentino Pérez is “very angry” after Real Madrid’s Clásico humbling, Sport reports, and has already “given orders” for the club to tie up Xabi Alonso as a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti next season.
Alonso is a former Madrid player and began his coaching career at the club’s academy, and has seen his managerial reputation soar since taking Bayer Leverkusen to last season’s Bundesliga title.
According to Sport, Pérez is disappointed with how Ancelotti has integrated Kylian Mbappé into the Madrid team this season, while there’s also unhappiness at a lack of minutes for Arda Güler — and Ancelotti has been made aware of his president’s displeasure after Saturday’s 4-0 loss at the Bernabéu.
Manchester City is so keen on defender Josko Gvardiol that it is — allegedly — going to give him a proactive raise:
