Paris Saint-Germain’s decision to sign Randal Kolo Muani initially seemed like a great move, bringing in a skilled French player in his prime. However, things haven’t unfolded as planned, and now there are rumors swirling about a possible exit.
With the January transfer window approaching, intermediaries are beginning to gauge interest from several Premier League clubs—including Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United—regarding Kolo Muani’s availability, according to TBR Football.
L’Équipe reports that PSG has been underwhelmed by Kolo Muani’s performances and is already considering his departure, valuing him at around €40 million to €50 million.
Newcastle, one of the clubs approached, sees Kolo Muani as a strong option to potentially replace Alexander Isak, per Fichajes. With rumors swirling about the Swedish striker’s possible exit, the Magpies are actively searching for high-quality replacements to keep their attack strong.
Despite joining PSG with high expectations, Kolo Muani has yet to fully deliver, fueling frustration within the club and opening the door for a potential move.
Is Everton a potential landing spot for Randal Kolo Muani?
PSG invested €90 million in the forward, but how he’s performed over the last year. As a result, Football Transfer’s Robin Bairner believes that the Ligue 1 side will need to loan him out to bolster his profile.
“Selling Kolo Muani is going to be a difficult one for PSG as well because they bought him for so much money,” Bairner said on the latest PSG Talk Extra Time podcast. “How do you move on a guy like this? What might be a smart move for PSG to consider is loaning them out either to the Premier League or Bundesliga. We’ve seen them succeed in the Bundesliga before. There’s a whole bunch of French players who have gone from Liga to the Bundesliga, and particularly PSG.
“I believe Hugo Ekitike scored a couple of goals again today and has been doing very well there. So I think there’ll be opportunities for him in the Bundesliga. He’s been offered to a number of clubs in England. Quite whether he’ll go to a team that would be willing to shell out for him, given his recent struggles, is questionable. But if there’s a mid-table team that’s maybe struggling, maybe somebody like Everton that needs a striker come January.
“I don’t think it would be the worst move in the world for PSG to try and loan him out for six months, maybe even 18 months, try and get his profile back up and then sell him on because I think at the moment it’s going to be very difficult to sell him to the select few clubs that could afford him based purely on what PSG paid for him.”
