Paris Saint-Germain expressed strong interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia over the summer, but a transfer didn’t materialize. Now, with the winger and Napoli struggling to agree on a contract extension, several clubs are eyeing an opportunity to sign him.
Journalist Graeme Bailey shared with Rousing the Kop that Liverpool is monitoring Kvaratskhelia as part of their plans to prepare for Mohamed Salah’s eventual departure.
“When you’ve got the likes of possibly Kvaratskhelia on the market, let’s not forget that Liverpool have just brought in the second best Georgian player,” Bailey said. “Liverpool are all over Kvaratskhelia, they know about the situation, there might be a chance of getting him next summer.”
Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that PSG and Barcelona are ramping up their pursuit, increasing pressure on Napoli to finalize a deal ahead of next summer. A resolution could be reached in the coming weeks.
Barcelona could have the advantage for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
According to Sport (h/t AS), Kvaratskhelia’s agents have contacted FC Barcelona’s sporting directors to discuss a potential transfer. The Napoli winger has yet to renew his contract with the Italian club, sparking rumors about his future away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
However, Barcelona has not reached out to Napoli and is reportedly taking a wait-and-see approach.
A recent report from La Repubblica reveals that Barcelona are already in talks to sign the Napoli player, with discussions between the parties underway. The Italian outlet suggests the deal could reach a final cost of €80 million.
