When former Bayern Munich coach and German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann fully reflects back on 2024, he will have a lot of positive takeaways.
“I think you have to differentiate a bit between what would have been possible at the Euros and the situation we came from. We had hit rock bottom in November last year and were under pressure because of the EUROs at home. I don’t want to get into complaining mode, we only have ourselves to blame for not being so successful,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “But that’s why I’m incredibly satisfied and I’ve just told the team that. I’ve never felt such an extreme sense of togetherness with the team, but also with the staff. Not only do I feel comfortable here, but I also have very good employees around me and a team that has developed really well. This sense of togetherness is unique.”
The German national team has made great strides under Nagelsmann, but the real challenge lies ahead. Can he keep it going in a positive direction?
