Everton fan group members are set to join some of their Manchester United counterparts outside Old Trafford on Sunday before their sides’ game to protest against ticket prices
Everton supporters are set to join their Manchester United counterparts in a protest. It will take place ahead of the game between the sides at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Significant sections of the Blues fan base have vented their frustrations about the way the club has been ran in recent years with protest marches outside Goodison Park while there have also been organised demonstrations against the Premier League following the brace of points deductions for PSR rule breaches last season.
United fans forced their club’s home game against Liverpool to be postponed after they broke onto the pitch at Old Trafford in May 2021, in protest against the Glazer family’s ownership, but even though Sir Jim Ratcliffe has since invested £1.25billion to acquire a 27.7% stake in the club, many supporters remain unhappy.

Stretty News reports that United fan group The 1958 have released a statement saying that both Manchester United and Everton supporters will display a Stop Exploiting Loyalty banner before their sides meet at the weekend.
The protest is planned to take place at the Trinity statue outside Old Trafford at 12:30pm on Sunday and The 1958 say: “As an associated member of the FSA (Football Supporters Association) and together with an Everton supporters group, we will be protesting on Sunday before the game.”
The issue surrounds a decision to raise match ticket prices for members to £66 per game, without concessions, for the remainder of the season, without consulting any fan groups.
A Man United ticket announcement for their home game against Ipswich Town on February 26 has been highlighted and reads: “97% of match tickets for this season have already been sold, with 5 age-related discounts available to our fans. Now that all major ticket releases have taken place we have reached capacity of discounted tickets, and any future tickets released for this game will be sold at £66 for fans regardless of location or age.”
