Bayern Munich desperately wants to extend the contract of Jamal Musiala and now things could finally be breaking in terms of where the player stands on a new deal.
It has long been speculated that Musiala wants to stay with Bayern Munich, but with the time ticking, we might be learning just how serious Musiala is about continuing onward in Bavaria. The only thing holding up a new contract appears to be an agreement on numbers, which — as we know — are the most vital part of a deal:
Jamal Musiala feels very comfortable in Munich and sees no reason to leave Bayern. The signals from the player’s camp are positive. It’s being whispered that Bayern have a plan internally and could be looking to announce Musiala’s renewal during next Sunday’s annual general meeting in order to ensure a great atmosphere within the members.
However, that seems rather unlikely at the moment as both the content of the contract and the numbers have not been agreed yet. A signature before Christmas is therefore unlikely, especially since the tight schedule means there’s hardly any time to hold the talks.
One way to fully thrust yourself onto the transfer radar of big clubs to have a standout performance against Bayern Munich.
Mission accomplished for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens. Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC, and Tottenham Hotspur are all keeping an eye on the Englishman:

At the moment, Gittens is not planning a transfer in the summer. In the long term, however, he sees himself playing in the Premier League. Dortmund is reportedly seeking around €100 million for him.
Bayern Munich travelled to Borussia Dortmund for Der Klassiker in a match that was very key for both squads.

It is not just Jamal Musiala, who Bayern Munich is eager to re-up. After months of speculation, the club might also be putting a full-court press on the Canadian to ink a new deal:
Bayern are in concrete talks with Alphonso Davies’ management and are determined to extend the player’s contract. Nevertheless, the club is keeping an eye on the market for a potential replacement in case an agreement couldn’t be reached with Davies. Theo Hernández, in particular, is a candidate. David Raum is also on Bayern’s list, although he’s not a hot topic as of now. Leipzig also want to keep Raum.
Manchester United and Manchester City could be the two club most in contention for Sporting CP attacker Viktor Gyökeres:
Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres is a top target for both Manchester United and Manchester City, putting him in the middle of a transfer tug-of-war between his former manager Rúben Amorim and ex-sporting director Hugo Viana, according to The Sun. Gyökeres has scored 67 goals in 69 appearances since he joined Sporting at the start of last season, making him one of the most coveted forwards in Europe. The Sweden international is wanted at United, where Amorim has his first match in charge at Ipswich Town on Sunday, and City, where Viana will official begin work next summer as Txiki Begiristain’s replacement.
Bayern Munich is in the midst of the tough stretch before the Winterpause, but the squad is riding high and playing extremely well under Vincent Kompany.
That said, there are quite a few hit discussions topics surrounding the team at the moment, so we are going to tackle those and some other fun things on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show. This is what we have on tap:
- In the spirit of the holiday (at least for those of us in the United States), let’s talk about what we’re thankful for with Bayern Munich so far this season.
- Does the greater Bundesliga need Borussia Dortmund to win this weekend to save the league title race?
- Let’s talk about the latest Leroy Sané rumor and what that might mean for the team moving forward.
RB Leipzig might want to bring Paris Saint-Germain attacker Randal Kolo Muani back to the Bundesliga:
Randal Kolo Muani is high on RB Leipzig’s shortlist for winter ✔️
A move from Paris Saint-Germain in the winter is possible, as revealed. Currently, a loan deal seems the most likely option.
RB Leipzig find him very interesting for several reasons: he knows the Bundesliga, brings pace and depth, and is highly versatile. The challenge for RB: financing and feasibility.
Top clubs from the Premier League are also keen on RKM. Kolo Muani, one to watch for the next days.
Bayer Leverkusen Patrick Schick might want a consistent, starting role bad enough that he is willing to leave the club:
⚫️ Patrik #Schick has made it clear within the club that he wants to play regularly, not just when another striker is injured. The role as a number two is not enough for him.
Juventus Turin have expressed interest in a transfer during the winter. However, Bayer 04 Leverkusen has made it clear they will absolutely not let him go in the winter. A sale would only be considered in the summer at the earliest by Leverkusen.
Contract until 2027. 8 goals and 1 assist this season. 28 y/o currently in top form.
