The West Ham United fans are sick and tired of Julen Lopetegui already, that much is clear.
Julen Lopetegui has seriously underperformed since arriving at the London Stadium, and West Ham have actually regressed over the past few months.
It is believed that the Hammers owners are already lining up replacements for the beleaguered Spaniard.
That’s no surprise really is it, given the poor quality of 90% of our performances under Lopetegui this season.
It has been claimed that he has until the end of the month to save his job, but I suspect he could be gone within the next week if results don’t improve.
West Ham lack any kind of footballing identity under the 58-year-old’s guidance, or lack thereof.
It’s such a poor show that he has been in charge of the club for five months now, and there still haven’t been any significant improvements.
Time is ticking on Lopetegui’s future at the London Stadium, and David Sullivan has a very big decision to make.
Disaster for West Ham as board decide to appoint new manager
Even if we do manage to beat Leicester and then Wolves next week, I really don’t see any kind of future for Lopetegui at the London Stadium.
Change is needed in my opinion, if we are to make genuine progress over the next few years.
Now there seems to be a big problem for the Hammers though.
According to Ouest-France, Nantes owner Waldemar Kita has ‘decided to bring Sergio Conceicao’ to the Stade de la Beaujoire.
Current Nantes boss Antoine Kombouare is under real pressure and is facing the sack, with his side sitting second from bottom in Ligue 1.
And Conceicao has been touted as the perfect replacement for the 61-year-old manager.
That’s a big shame for West Ham, with the 50-year-old former Porto coach being eyed as the perfect replacement for Lopetegui.
Conceicao has charisma by the bucket-load, and he is incredibly astute tactically.
The Portuguese would be a major upgrade on Lopetegui – he would bring more intensity to our performances on the pitch and more excitement to press conferences off the field of play.
He would also get us defending far better as a unit, there is simply not doubt in my mind about that.
If the West Ham owners are unsure of Julen Lopetegui, they simply have to sack him now, and Sergio Conceicao would be a brilliant replacement for him.
However, the Hammers board will have to act fast if they want to bring the 50-year-old to the London Stadium.
