The upcoming January transfer window could see one player leave West Ham United.
West Ham need to make a couple of top-class signings in the January transfer window.
Julen Lopetegui is crying out for a pacy centre-forward and a ball-carrying central midfielder at the London Stadium, and Tim Steidten must do his best to provide the manager with those players.
Lopetegui is currently under real pressure, and reports are claiming that he could lose his job by the end of the year, with the likes of young German coach Matthias Jaissle being lined up to replace him.
However, it doesn’t really matter who is in charge of West Ham come January, there will still be plenty of work to be done in the window regardless of who’s in the hot-seat.
Moving players on may well be as important as bringing them in.
And one player in particular seems to be destined to leave the club this winter.
‘Fantastic’ West Ham player will now likely be sold in the January window
There will be plenty of activity at the London Stadium in the January window, I have no doubts about that.
However, the most likely deal right now is looking like an exit rather than an incoming.
One of David Moyes’s signings from 2023 could be heading for the exit door it seems.
According to a report from Radio Inferno, Internacional are keen to sign Hammers defender Luizao this winter.
The 22-year-old has already been strongly linked with an exit from West Ham in January.
The Brazilian centre-back joined West Ham on a free transfer from Sao Paulo way back in January 2023.
However, he’s still yet to play a single minute for the senior side, despite featuring regularly for the under-21s.
Described by Football Talent Scout as ‘fantastic’ Luizao certainly has plenty of potential.
However, it’s clear that he’s nowhere near the level needed to play Premier League football.
He didn’t get a sniff under David Moyes, and the same has happened with Julen Lopetegui at the helm.
So an exit from the London Stadium in January and a return to his native Brazil would be the best outcome for all parties involved in my opinion.
The signing of Luizao simply hasn’t worked out at West Ham United, and it’s time for everyone to move on now.
