For those of you that have read the blog for a while, you’ll know that for me it’s about the result. I’ve written before that I’d take a boring 1-0 win every week if it meant that we were winning.
And as of today we are four points from fourth place with fifteen games to go and we’ve already qualified for the next round of the Champions League. And if we can get three points tomorrow, we might also qualify in the top eight.
Tomorrow is out of our hands, but we’ve already qualified. We have fifteen games to go in the League and we’re within touching distance of top four. I wrote this a lot last season, but it stands true today .. what a time to be an Aston Villa fan.
I appreciate the football doesn’t look as good as it has, but we’re within touching distance of fourth and we’ve already qualified for the next phase of the Champions League. Shouldn’t we just be waiting for the football to get better, because we know it will.
I wrote it three times because in the good old days you had to say something three times to know, or hope, it was heard. I’m told today it’s a lot more, but I’m hoping having written it three times, my opinion on all this is clear.
But this post is about tomorrow. Tomorrow is Celtic at Villa Park and you know I’m going to write this next part, but this is going to be a tough match. It’s also a big match. Celtic are a big team and they’ll bring a voice.
That voice will be important for them, but I have a feeling the Villa Park voice will be more impressive. It’s going to be a special match for our captain also if he plays.
I think we need him to play and I think he’ll be proper up for it and he’ll know most of them better than others.
So on that written, I need to get in the car. I’ll be back later, but really looking forward to tomorrow. It’s not in our hands, but I believe we can do what we have to do.
