Yes, I had to read the report three times to be sure: It seems the Hammers last man standing in the attack line up may suddenly be a wanted man. By Everton.
Before you laugh and accuse me of losing it, the report comes from goodisonnews.com in an article entitled “Everton could sign Danny Ings in last-gasp shock West Ham deal”.
They in turn quote the Liverpoolecho.co.uk– which is casting around desperately for a striker for David Moyes now that his front men are crocked.
Dominic Calvert Lewin, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti are all out injured meaning Everton are actually worse off than West Ham but without the big bucks just now to go on a spending spree.
The Liverpool echo suggests:
“Having been signed by Moyes at West Ham two years ago, Danny Ings feels like the Blues’ obvious ‘last resort’ option. Ings joined the Hammers from Aston Villa, who had paid £30million for his services after an excellent spell at Southampton. With Ings now 32, questions would likely be asked if Moyes were to bring the ex-Liverpool striker back to Merseyside, and it remains to be seen whether West Ham would let him leave given their own forward problems.”
Oh yes they would! The Hammers have been desperate to get Ings £125k a week off the weekly pay roll.
With Ings’ contract running out in June of this year it wouldn’t take a big bid to get the striker’s signature: West Ham have been trying to lever him off the bench and out of the club for over a year so be our guest David Moyes, make a bid. £1 million? Sold.
