Bayern Munich announced the signing of a contract extension with Joshua Kimmich on a deal that will keep him in Bavaria through the 2028/29 season.
Needless to say, Bayern Munich officials are happy to put the exhaustive process behind them:
Herbert Hainer, President of FC Bayern: “A compliment to our sporting management and our board: FC Bayern needs players who not only wear the jersey, but also take responsibility – on and off the pitch. And Joshua Kimmich is such a player.”
Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO: “We are delighted that Joshua Kimmich is continuing his journey at FC Bayern. He is someone who always leads the way, whether at the club or as DFB captain. His hunger is unbroken, as we saw again in the Champions League round of 16. His determination and commitment embody what FC Bayern stands for. He should build the bridge between our current generation and a new era.”
Max Eberl, Chief Sports Officer: “Mentality and identity – that’s what Joshua Kimmich stands for. He has internalized FC Bayern’s DNA for years and embodies it on and off the pitch. Where others stop, he just starts. We are delighted that he will continue to lead our team forward.”
Christoph Freund, Sporting Director: “Everyone can see how Joshua Kimmich is on fire for the game and for his club, in every minute of the match. As a leading figure, he leads the way, drives and provides impetus: an engine that will continue to tirelessly drive FC Bayern forward in the future.”
