Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has heard it all in his first season in charge of the club — the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Kompany knows that he cannot control what is said, so he will just continue approaching things in a level-headed manner.
“I’ve heard it all in seven months here,” Kompany said in remarks captured by @iMiaSanMia. “First, they said we can’t beat top teams. Then when we beat top teams, they said they weren’t top teams. And now we haven’t beaten two teams from the bottom, and that’s the new story. But in the end, there are other numbers this season. With this performance, we’re winning nine out of ten games, and now we have to get back to work and win the next game.”
Surely, there will criticism of this match (and rightfully so), but the Bavarians are making great strides in Kompany’s first season at the helm, making this just a blip on the radar. A big test will be how the team responds to this effort after the international break.
