Trey Nyoni is still only 17 years of age. Since joining Liverpool from Leicester, he has made his first team debut. Played in Europe, The Carabao Cup and the FA Cup. He has also played two times for the England U.19, this week being called up to the England U.20 squad.
His move to Liverpool was one with controversy. Leicester was not really happy to see him leave. They did not have a chance to tie him down to a long-term contract.
Looking forward for both Leicester and Trey. His younger brother is at the club. His family also lives locally. Would it be wrong to think about a return next season? A loan move back could be a win win for all parties. Trey made 13 U.18 appearances for Leicester before moving to Liverpool.
Leicester need to see the use of a younger generation. We believe the club should build a good bridge from the academy to the first team, for many of them. Jeremy Monga and Jake Evans are two talked up at the moment. We have seen suggestions that both should be handed a chance, but believe it should not happen before next season. Having a pre-season with the first team squad would provide an opportunity for the coaching staff to guide them. It would also let the coaches see if they are ready. Simply placing them into the first team seems risky. It is a gamble to assume they will automatically provide a fresh perspective.
A START for Trey Nyoni

You need a model and structure for young players to actually develope. If you ignore these important steps most of them will just vanish. We have seen the work done in the past. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Ben Chilwell and Harvey Barnes are all three great examples. All players had a number of loan spells before breaking into the first team.
Trey Nyoni is a box to box midfielder. He is a good tackler, he can score goals and he can set up other players. He has been a sub on four Premier League occasions this season, but still waiting for his debut. He has allready broken records at Liverpool, becoming their youngest player ever to appear in the FA Cup.
Trey Nyoni was recently called up to the England U.20 squad, being named together with Will Alves, currently on loan at Cardiff. We certainly hope to see him back. We believe he can become that special first team player at Leicester. He can also bridge the gap between the youth academy and the first team at the club.
