Former West Ham United midfielder Martin Allen has made the sensational claim that Hammers winger Mohammed Kudus could be moving to Elland Road next season.
I guess they don’t label the fella ‘Mad Dog’ for nothing! The bonkers Hammers cult hero has delivered his transfer bombshell while talking to a Leeds United fan website.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Allen said:”Who would sign Kudus? All other clubs looking in would worry about his goal return, so I would question if any top Premier League teams would take him.”
“Clubs coming up, maybe Leeds would take a chance on him after Summerville went the other way.”
In essence, Allen has pretty much stated that the West Ham winger isn’t good enough for even mid-table Premier League teams to be interested and that only promoted sides would bid. Incredible.
Whilst it’s hard to argue with his goal tally this season, there have been quite unique circumstances. However, the Ghanaian has remained in the top three dribblers in European football for the past two seasons and was, I thought, man of the match in the Hammers’ recent 1-0 win against Arsenal.
It’s incredible to hear that a player with an £85m buyout clause might only be of interest to ambitious Championship clubs, but Allen certainly caught my attention with his comments.
