The England v Albania World Cup qualifier at Wembley on Friday night has got the West Ham fans talking.
England face two crucial World Cup fixtures over the next few days against Albania and Latvia respectively.
But England boss Thomas Tuchel has already been accused of ignoring in-form players in favour of picking more experienced heads.
West Ham will be represented in the Three Lions camp by Jarrod Bowen.
However, there were a couple more Hammers who would have felt aggrieved to have missed out on Tuchel’s squad.
Ahead of England v Albania, West Ham fans react to training ground picture
How Aaron Wan-Bissaka was not called up to Thomas Tuchel‘s England squad for this week’s fixtures is utterly baffling.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka recently admitted that he joined West Ham due to the hugely exciting project on offer at the London Stadium.
The 27-year-old has been sensational for the Hammers since joining us from Manchester United in a £15 million deal last summer.
Given the problems that England have in the full-back department, and Wan-Bissaka’s ability to play in the left-back position as well, his omission seriously raised some eyebrows.
West Ham posted a picture of the former Man United man hard at work during a training session at Rush Green on Thursday.
And the West Ham fans swarmed to social media platform X in response to the picture.
One Hammers fans said, “How he is not in the England camp baffles me more and more every day. Should be begging the man to play.“
A second Hammers supporter said, “Should have been in the England squad all day long. I know he’s got faults, but aside from Reece James there’s not much better right now.”
Whilst a third West Ham fan noted, “Admin knew what they were doing there.“
Meanwhile, a fourth Hammers supporter took to X and suggested that AWB should have been picked ahead of others, “100% agree!! How has Reece James or Kyle Walker got in over him?? Joke. Especially where Tuchel plays a very similar way to Potter.“
A fifth West Ham fan said, “Wan-Bissaka not in the squad but he’s included Walker and Henderson!! We wondered why they employed Tuchel… he’s clearly taken this job on the provision he’s going to be another yes man… there is no logic behind this squad whatsoever.“
And a sixth Hammer said, “Sorry but how is he not in the England squad?“
All of those fans above make very good points.
What more can Wan-Bissaka actually do?
Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s 2024/25 Premier League stats
The right-back has been a standout performer for the Hammers this season.
In 28 Premier League appearances for West Ham this season, Wan-Bissaka has averaged 1.8 tackles, 1.8 interceptions and three clearances per game (Who Scored).
The 27-year-old full-back has proven that he is one of the very best around this season.
Tuchel surely should have had a look at him close up.
The fact that Wan-Bissaka is not part of the England v Albania showdown is an utter joke if you ask me.
