The 28-year-old has been brilliant for Sociedad, and amazingly, Manchester United allegedly want to sign Nayef Aguerd from West Ham in the summer.
The Hammers owned centre-back has been a part of more clean sheets than any other player in Spain’s top flight this season.
He has been a standout performer for Real Sociedad. However, be warned, the Premier League is a completely different beast to La Liga.
Signed for £28 million from Rennes nearly three years ago (Daily Mail), Aguerd proved to be a terrible fit for the Hammers and Premier League football in general.
Nayef Aguerd could be Graham Potter’s undoing
If Potter really wants to bring Aguerd back, he couldn’t have watched him for the Hammers since he joined us in 2022.
The Morocco international is painfully ill-suited to Premier League football due to his lack of physicality.
He shirked challenges time and time again and his positional awareness was absolutely atrocious.
I’ve lost count of the amount of times he was beaten with a simple ball over the top.
