Manchester City are gearing up to take on Real Madrid in a scintillating second leg in their Champions League semi-final tie.
Manchester City have just one injury doubt ahead of their second leg against Los Blancos – the status of defender Nathan Ake is still unclear. While he is nearing a return to full fitness, the game on Wednesday evening may come too soon for the 28-year-old.
In their last competitive game, City swept aside a dogged Everton outfit by a score of 3-0 at Goodison Park. Despite a spritely start from the Toffees, a quickfire double from Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland dampened their spirits – a penalty in the second, which gave Gundogan his brace, sealed the deal.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid defeated Getafe at home in their last game. The Azulones held firm until the 70th minute, when Marco Asensio scored the only goal of the game.
In the first leg, City were largely dominant, but a wonder strike from Vinicius Junior set them back. Kevin De Bruyne levelled the scores in the second half – it is all still to play for at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City are the favourites to win the game against the Spanish giants on Wednesday evening – according to Oddschecker, the Sky Blues have accumulative odds of 5/8 to win over 90 minutes. Madrid have odds of 9/2 to win, while the draw is rated at 18/5.
