Erik ten Hag is confident that Marcus Rashford will sign a new deal at Man United.
Manchester United Football Club have been locked in contract talks with Marcus Rashford for what feels like the better part of a year.
The Red Devils obviously want to tie the Englishman down to a new long-term deal, with his 30 goals likely only increasing the eventual price.
However, Rashy was keeping his cards close to his chest. That also makes sense. He’s weighing up all his options before making a decision. No doubt his excellent season leaves him feeling positive about staying with his boyhood club.
Now, Erik ten Hag has offered us a positive update on the Rashford contract situation, claiming he ‘expect(s)’ the forward to renew, adding that he is a ‘child of this club’. He’s not wrong.
Check out what the gaffer had to say in full here:
“I expect Marcus Rashford to renew,” he told Viaplay, per the Manchester Evening News. “He wants it. Manchester United wants it. He is a child of this club, so I assume this will happen.”
Honestly, we need this to happen. Rashford has been the main source of goals this season, consistently proving his doubters wrong. He’s now looking like the top-tier player we all knew he was. I guess he just needed some man-management and a clear direction.
This will be a deal that will see Rashford tied down for his prime years and although it’ll be mightily expensive, it’ll be worth every single penny.
It’s also no surprise to see these positive updates now that Champions League football is secured, coupled with the fact that the Red Devils have another chance at securing another trophy. Everything is pointing in a positive direction for the Old Trafford side – and long may that continue.
