Bayern Munich did a fine job last summer when it comes to getting good transfer fees for players that wanted to leave the club. Bayern will have to follow the same approach this summer as Benjamin Pavard looks destined to be the key departure from the squad this summer.
Pavard has told Die Roten about his desire to look for a new adventure. The French defender has 12 months left on his contract, so Bayern will look to sell him in the summer. The German Champions can get a decent fee for him as a bidding war between two big Italian clubs could take place in the summer.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via iMiaSanMia), AC Milan and Inter Milan are interested in signing Pavard. This report also confirms that Benjamin Pavard admires Serie A, so he could be open to leaving Munich for Italy.
Inter Milan tried to sign Pavard in January, but Die Roten rejected their bid on the deadline day. The Champions League finalist will have to bolster the defense in the summer as Milan Skriniar looks set to leave on a free transfer. The Italian media outlet suggests that Inter made a bid worth €20 million for Pavard in January. They may have to pay a bigger fee due to interest from several clubs.
Both Milan clubs will have Champions League football next season, so Pavard has to make a decision based on the quality of sporting projects. The French defender wants to play in central defense frequently, so he may prefer joining a club that gives him a chance to play in his favoured position.
Meanwhile, L’Equipe (via GFFN) is reporting that Manchester United and Barcelona are also interested in Benjamin Pavard. Barcelona has been consistently linked with Pavard since the end of the winter transfer window. The Spanish club reportedly held talks with Pavard’s agents to discuss a summer transfer.
Manchester United will be an attractive project for Pavard. They are on an upward trajectory under Erik Ten Hag. The Red Devils will be playing in the Champions League next season. Pavard will get an ample number of chances to play in central defense if he joins the Old Trafford side.

It is a shame that Pavard is leaving Bayern this summer. He has been a solid player for Die Roten, delivering 7/10 performances week in week out. They will get a decent fee for him in the summer as several clubs are showing interest in him.
