David de Gea – Pretty poor with the ball at feet. Couldn’t do anything about the first goal, but you expect better for the second. 4/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Did his job. Played really well against Jack Grealish and kept him quiet. 7/10
Raphael Varane – Hassled consistently whenever he had the ball. Went back to the keeper more often than not. Perhaps could have done better for the opener… 6/10
Victor Lindelof – Had a decent game defensively. Didn’t really give Haaland many chances with the ball. 6/10
Luke Shaw – Very quiet offensively, but wasn’t able to get forward due to City’s intensity. 5/10
Casemiro – Steady enough. Made some important tackles but also some rash ones. 5/10
Fred – Added energy and did a job on Kevin de Bruyne. Committed some late fouls and towed the line. 5/10
Christian Eriksen – Not his finest match. Was bypassed far too easily pretty much every time City had possession. Couldn’t find those killer passes. 3/10
Bruno Fernandes – Worked hard and dragged his side back into it via the penalty spot. Largely kept quiet by City’s defence. 5/10
Jadon Sancho – Too quiet. Didn’t look up to the task. Shied away when in good attacking positions. 3/10
Marcus Rashford – Just didn’t quite happen for him. Tried to run at City’s back four and make things happen. 4/10
Subs:
Alejandro Garnacho – Probably United’s best player. Looked threatening down that left-hand side.
Wout Weghorst – Didn’t really get into it.
Scott McTominay – Had a big chance late on.
