Man United are now looking at Fiorentina midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat, as a potential summer target.
Erik ten Hag can now solely focus on acquiring the perfect players to fit this system at Manchester United. The next couple of months are absolutely massive.
The club, whoever the owners may be, need to back their man and recognise that this is an ideal opportunity. Several names have already been linked with a potential Reds switch. No doubt many more will follow.
Today’s claim comes from Sport, with Stretty News providing the translation. They claim that Man United are looking at Sofyan Amrabat.
United are showing an interest in signing the 26-year-old midfielder, though FC Barcelona currently lead the race to bring in the man from Morocco, who had a stunning World Cup.
The midfielder very nearly made the move to the Camp Nou in January, though that deal fell through, opening the door for United to make their play to bring him in.
Sport reckon that United may look to capitalise on Barca’s financial constraints and as a result ‘intensified contacts’ have taken place over the last few hours.
It’s clear what sort of player profile United are looking to target to fill their midfield woes. They’re after someone mobile, who can press the opposition, while also being decent enough in possession to help United move forward.
This would lead me to believe that Amrabat is someone who is an alternative to Mason Mount, rather than someone who’d be signed as well as the Englishman.
Amrabat, like Mount, has a contract that’s expiring on a year, so United could look to use that to their advantage and bring in a top class player for a relatively decent price.
