Jurrien Timber has further fueled the Man United transfer rumours, by being pictured at Wembley for the FA Cup final.
Manchester United Football Club lost their Wembley showpiece match yesterday, ending the season a sour note.
Now, we gear up for another huge summer transfer window. Back Erik ten Hag and I genuinely believe the Red Devils could seriously close the gap to Manchester City. However, he needs his number-one targets in numerous positions.
Cast your mind back to last summer. The only reason we have Lisandro Martinez at Old Trafford is due to Ajax’s desire to keep ahold of Jurrien Timber. Ten Hag wanted to sign his countryman, though had to pivot away from the youngster.
Well, Timber has made his intentions to leave Ajax this summer pretty clear. He’s once again been linked with a United move. Liverpool are also interested.
Well, to add to the speculation, the United-linked 21-year-old defender was spotted at Wembley yesterday, watching United take on City in front of a packed-out stadium…

Sure, Timber could have been there purely as a fan of football. However, you cannot help but feel he didn’t at least have a chat with his old boss, Ten Hag, while in such close proximity with one another…
Timber is someone who knows exactly what’s required in a Ten Hag team, while the versatility could also be key, as the young man can also play at right-back.
If Harry Maguire is on the way out, Timber could be the ideal replacement. He’s younger and still learning his trade, so he could dip in and out of the team for a year or two, before eventually replacing Raphael Varane at the heart of the back four.
Again, this is purely speculation, but it does feel like more than just a coincidence…
