Man United are ready to step up their pursuit of Atalanta striker, Rasmus Hojlund.
Manchester United Football Club need a new striker. Maybe two. Erik ten Hag lost Cristiano Ronaldo, while Wout Weghorst will not be staying on a permanent deal.
The Old Trafford side need a 20+ goal-a-season man. That search has so far led United far and wide. Harry Kane feels like the main target. While a move for Rasmus Hojlund seems to be picking up in pace.
TalkSPORT have provided the latest information on a potential United move for the latter, claiming United are ready to ‘ramp up’ their interest in the 20-year-old striker, who currently plies his trade for Atalanta.
Their understanding is that United want to sign two strikers during this summer, with Hojlund seemingly one of the targets. The player is valued at £40m.
The young man scored nine Serie A goals during his debut season with Atalanta, following his time with Sturm Graz.
The Dane certainly feels like a striker of the future, with Hojlund having bags of potential and skill. There can be no doubt that his asking price will only rise as time goes on, so it could be smart to make this move right now.
As is always the case with players in this age bracket, there is no guarantee. You look at Amad, who cost a similar amount of money from the same Serie A club. It has taken him a couple of years to be even in with a chance at securing a spot in the first-team. This could explain why United want two strikers, rather than just Hojlund alone.
In an ideal world, both Hojlund and Kane are signed. However, that feels like a large chunk of the transfer budget. I’d doubt the club would spend it all on one position.
