The transfer window is heating up as clubs have started making big moves in the past few days. Bayern Munich is also expected to be busy this summer. The Bavarian club’s priority is to sign a new striker, but there are several areas to address in the current squad. Moreover, Die Roten is also bracing for a couple of big departures this summer.
Bayern has been consistently linked with few players for the number nine role. Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani have been heavily linked with Die Roten in the past few weeks. The latest development in Germany sees a former Bundesliga forward linked with a move to Bavaria.
According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern has joined the race to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea. The German forward is likely to leave Chelsea this summer. Arsenal has shown concrete in the forward, but Bayern is also looking at him as a viable solution for the number nine role.
Sky Sports also report that Bayern is unlikely to make a move for Ranal Kolo Muani. The other options for the number nine role are unattainable for Die Roten, so they have turned their attention to signing Havertz from Chelsea.
Bayern’s interest is yet to materialize in a bid for Havertz. Arsenal has taken significant steps to explore a deal to sign the German forward. The North London side has the first bid rejected for the forward on Friday. They are expected to come up with another bid sooner rather than later, so Die Roten needs to make their move quickly.
Chelsea reportedly values Havertz at £70 million since he has two years left on his contract. However, the Blues need to sell players sooner rather than later to balance the books after the heavy spending done in the last two windows. Bayern will hope to capitalize on this situation and get Havertz for a reasonable price, but they will have to make an offer soon to beat Arsenal.

Havertz has been consistently linked with a move to Bayern when he was playing for Bayer Leverkusen. The Bavarian club never made a move for him when Chelsea came calling in 2020. The 23-year-old German forward has been a hit-and-miss for Chelsea, but he came up with the winner in the Champions League final against Man City two years ago.
The former Bayer Leverkusen forward can lead the line as he did for Chelsea over the last three seasons. He is not a prolific scorer but has the tools to become a reliable scorer in the right environment. Bayern still has a lot of work to do since Arsenal is leading the race. The next few days will be crucial for Havertz’s transfer as Chelsea look to sell before the end of June.
