Erling Haaland is BOOED by his own supporters after refusing to sign autographs and ignoring fans outside stadium… as he walks straight on to the team bus after Norway lost 2-1 to Scotland
- Erling Haaland snubbed fans waiting outside the Ullevall Stadion on Saturday
- He was greeted with boos as the Man City star did not greet fans to sign shirts
- It came after Norway succumbed to two late goals in a 2-1 defeat by Scotland
Erling Haaland was booed by his own fans following Norway’s dramatic 2-1 loss to Scotland, that saw his side succumb to two goals in the 87th and 89th minutes of the match.
It means that while the rest of Europe will be competing in the 2024 Euros next summer in Germany, the Manchester City star will may potentially be on holiday, after their hopes of qualifying for their first European Championship in 24 years took yet another dent.
Following on from Manchester City’s jubilant Champions League and Treble winning title celebrations, Haaland was back in action tonight and ended a five match scoring drought, converting a penalty, to give the home side the lead in Oslo.
But there was late heartache for Norway, who had played so well to fend off the advances of the Scots throughout the match with, Lyndon Dykes appearing late in the Norway penalty area to strike home a loose ball to bring the Scots back to a level playing field.
With the Scandinavians in shock Kenny McLean then followed with a second, just two minutes later, tapping in a cross from Dykes to seal the win for Steve Clarke’s side, who now top the group and look set to qualify for the tournament after winning three games on the bounce.
And despite ending his scoring duck, the loss clearly was a frustrating one for Haaland.
Instead of greeting fans waiting for him outside the Ullevall Stadion after the match to sign shirts and take pictures, the Norwegian walked straight onto the bus.
While his fans were chanting his name before hand, they erupted into boos and jeers afterwards as it appeared he would not be coming back out to greet them, before the bus pulled away.
It comes after a busy week for the City No 9, who was has been pictured enjoying his side’s Champions League celebrations that included a secret trip to Ibiza, a pjama party and one almighty open-top bus tour.
It comes as several of his team-mates have also been on international duty with England.
The Three lions defeated Malta 4-0 on Friday night, with Phil Foden making an appearance in the second half.
