Man United are closing in on reaching a new contract agreement with Marcus Rashford.
Manchester United are set for a pretty big summer, both on and off the field. The club is yet to be sold, though you’d imagine we’ll hear some news soon. On the pitch, Erik ten Hag needs new signings.
He’ll also be wanting to tie some players to fresh contracts. The likes of Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw have committed their futures to the Red Devils recently. However, you’d hope that others will follow.
Marcus Rashford is the big one. It feels like United have been locked in talks with the Englishman for at least a year now. The player has been playing it smart, refusing to commit until guarantees about club ownership is made. Understandably, he wants to know where he fits into the plans, while also having an inclination about what direction the club is heading in.
Well, we bring you good news from Fabrizio Romano. According to the Italian journalist, United are ‘on the verge’ of reaching an agreement with the key star over a new contract agreement.
Apparently, negotiations are in the final stages, with Rashford all set to accept the proposal. He’s said to be very happy with life under Ten Hag. No doubt looking forward to help this club progress.
Romano believes the deal will be done soon, which will be a huge relief for everyone involved with United.
It goes without saying, the Englishman was the key figure for the Red Devils during the attacking phases of play. Without his goals and attacking intent, there may not be Champions League football on the table at Old Trafford next season.
Seemingly, it looks like Rashford is set to be rewarded, while United will be tying down the Englishman for his peak years – which is obviously huge news.
Hopefully, the deal is announced before pre-season starts in a few weeks.
