Manchester City are well on course to lose Kyle Walker this summer as the Englishman looks for an exit. The English international was benched in the finals of the Champions League this season which has fueled up his desire to leave the City of Manchester. The Champions have already found an ideal substitute for Walker. Achraf Hakimi of PSG has been approached by the club as they look to sign former Real Madrid star and academy graduate to replace the 33-year-old.
The 24-year-old still has 3 years left with PSG and the French club will be expecting a mammoth fee for the full-back. PSG had purchased Hakimi from Real Madrid for a whopping £60million two years ago.
Managerless PSG is in dire straits after losing Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, and talks of their record breakers Neymar/Mbappe looking for a transfer soon.
Talking to Spanish newspaper AS, Hakimi’s agent said: ‘Achraf wants to be happy in a sports project with a future, he is 24 years old and went to PSG with great enthusiasm, there were other teams behind him and we bet on PSG.’
‘He has three years on his contract and we want him to be calm. What can happen? I don’t know, at some point we will have to sit down with PSG and rethink the situation, but we are seeing what the club does… which at the moment has no coach.
‘When PSG has a coach and communicates what the project is, we will see. It’s one of the best clubs in the world. We’ll wait for that to stabilise and see.’
Hakimi’s agent has made it clear that an exit is not out of option and a lot would depend on how or who the coach is for this giant club. Manchester City would want to get their hands on a world class player as they look to reshape their squad for the future.
