Fred is all set to be sold by Man United this summer, with the Brazilian attracting plenty of interest.
Manchester United Football Club are still undergoing major change under Erik ten Hag, with the gaffer trying to turn this squad into one that fits his style.
The Old Trafford club have made one addition in the form of Mason Mount, though further midfield signings have not been ruled out. Perhaps that’s because the club know that players in that area will be sold…
Fred is one midfielder who has been talked up as a potential casualty this summer. The ex-Shakhtar Donetsk man has one year left on his deal, meaning United would have to get rid now, in order to earn some money back for the man they paid £50m to sign.
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Fred’s future. Apparently, the midfielder ‘will leave United this summer’, with several clubs eyeing a move to sign the player.
Galatasaray have made an approach, while Fulham, more Premier League sides and Saudi clubs all showing an interest.
The fact that there are many interested parties is good news for United. That should help ramp up the price tag placed on the Brazilian’s head, during a summer window where money is somewhat tight for the Old Trafford side.
I was actually impressed by Fred last season. He looked pretty good whenever called upon, though I always felt like he wouldn’t be content with minutes off the bench. He’s someone with genuine desire and drive to start matches with regularity – particularly at this stage of his career.
Honestly, I’d prefer to see him move abroad so he cannot hurt us later down the line, though I fully expect him to stay in England as it’s a good blend of money and high-level football.
