Following the latest injury news, Man United may well force Dean Henderson to stay at Man United.
Manchester United Football Club have been working hard in the transfer market this summer, in order to fill their squad with genuine quality.
Alongside the incoming players, some footballers simply have to be sold to balance the books and keep the dressing room from overcrowding.
Dean Henderson was one of the guys we all assumed would be sold. After all, he’s not happy at Old Trafford and he wants to play regular football. Nottingham Forest gave him that opportunity last season, with a permanent transfer in the works.
However, the Englishman’s frustrations could be set to continue. Following an injury to Tom Heaton, there’s talk that Henderson may be forced into staying at the Theatre of Dreams.
It’s the Manchester Evening News with the scoop. They state that the 26-year-old’s proposed transfer away from United ‘could be in jeopardy’ due to the Heaton problem, who is missing for at least a few weeks.
Henderson himself is still recovering from a thigh injury, which is why his move to Forest hasn’t gone through so far. Now, there’s a very real chance that the shot-stopper could be kept in Manchester until at least January. I cannot imagine he’d be best-pleased with that idea, but he signed a contract with United and that’s just the nature of the game.
I guess the downside for United is the fact that the longer Henderson just sits on the bench, the lower his transfer value will end up being. I just hope for his sake that Heaton’s problem isn’t too bad and this move can be sanctioned before the end of the month.
