Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Raphael Varane had some complaints against Nottingham Forest.
The Frenchman started the 3-2 comeback win over Forest on Saturday, but he was substituted at the break. Victor Lindelof replaced him.
Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said that Varane had some complaints in the dressing room and this contributed to his substitution.
The Dutchman added that he does not the extent of the injury, but he did not want to take a risk with the centre-back by playing him more.
Ten Hag said: “He had complaints. So we didn’t want to risk him. We know we have Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, good replacements.
“So we don’t take the risk, but what the complaint is and if it is really bad, we don’t know. We have to wait.”
United went 2-0 down after just four minutes on the clock against Forest, but they managed to comeback to secure a memorable win.
The Red Devils are scheduled to face Arsenal on the road before the international break and Ten Hag will be eyeing another victory.
