Man United have added Nicolas Tagliafico to the list of potential late left-back signings.
There is mass panic setting in at Manchester United. An injury to Luke Shaw leaves a gaping hole within the starting line-up in the left-back position.
Diogo Dalot played there at the weekend, while Alvaro Fernandez looks set to leave Old Trafford in some capacity.
Several names have already been linked with filling that void. Marc Cucurella, Sergio Reguilon and Marcos Alonso seem to be the frontrunners. Now, another name has been thrown into the mix; Nicolas Tagliafico.
The Argentine currently plies his trade for Ligue 1 club Lyon, with Erik ten Hag now taking note of the experienced defender.
It’s Fabrizio Romano with the latest information on this one. He says that United have ‘called to ask’ about the availability of the 30-year-old left-back, who is ‘well known’ by Ten Hag.
Tagliafico, like many other names linked with United, has previous experience with Ten Hag at Ajax. The pair won many trophies together over in Holland.

Now, the United gaffer is seemingly looking for another reunion, with Tagliafico viewed as someone who can come in and do a good enough job in the short-term.
I understand why Ten Hag is after someone familiar here. This is a solution in the interim and the club need someone who can slot in and understand the system from day one.
Tagliafico has bags of experience. He knows how the current United manager likes to operate so the transition should be pretty seamless.
Now, it’s about determining whether Lyon are open to negotiations for their left-back. It’s also down to whether Taglifico would like this move to happen.
