Nottingham Forest’s eighth signing of the summer has been announced in the acquisition of Argentinian midfielder Nicolas Dominguez from Bologna. The player spent several seasons in Italy, playing over 100 league games, and arrives on a long-term contract at the City Ground.
Dominguez told reporters after signing his deal: “It feels amazing to join a club with so much history in England and the Premier League.
“I watched the game Forest played against Sheffield United, I saw the fans in the stadium and it attracted me.
“I’m over the moon and keen to embrace this challenge.”
Dominguez has 11 caps for Argentina, and at 25-years-old still has his best years ahead of him. His signing is somewhat of a coup for Nottingham Forest, considering other Premier League teams such as Tottenham had shown some interest in signing the former Velez Sarsfield player.
It is understood that Forest have paid around £12 million for the player, and that he will battle with another new arrival for a place in the club’s first team, after Callum Hudson-Odoi also agreed a transfer today.
