Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Welsh international Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest on a deal until 2029 for a fee believed to be in the region of £40 milllion, which could end up reaching £45 million in performance based add-ons. He will wear the number 22 shirt.
The forward has made 108 senior appearances for Forest, scoring 29 goals, 8 of which were in the Premier League last season as he played a crucial part in Forest’s narrow survival in the Premier League.
Although not a direct replacement for their record goalscorer Harry Kane who departed for Bayern Munich this summer, it is believed Johnson is who the money from Kane’s sale has been allocated to. The 22 year old is also believed to be a good home grown addition for the club, who have recently been lacking in that department following a number of departures as Ange Postecoglou looks to trim his squad.
It is believed that there is also a 10 percent sell on clause should the North London based club wish to move him on in the future.
