Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that the club were not clinical enough in the final third during the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
The west London giants were eyeing back-to-back league wins under Pochettino, but the players failed to deliver against Forest. They produced a poor performance in the attacking third.
The Blues registered just two shots on target compared to Forest’s three. Anthony Elanga scored the winner for Forest. The Blues should have equalised but Nicolas Jackson missed an easy chance.
Speaking after the game, Pochettino said: “Today we created chances, we dominated the game but in the end we were not clinical enough in the last third. We should have scored and we need to if we want to win, then we made one mistake and we conceded a goal.”
Pochettino also promised to make changes in the aftermath of the defeat, and we could see multiple players dropped when the Blues face Bournemouth following the international break.
