Our predicted MUFC XI for the Crystal Palace cup game is now in…
Manchester United have started the season in pretty poor fashion, though the Carabao Cup could provide some respite for Erik ten Hag and his players.
The Red Devils will want to kick off their defence of the trophy with a victory, though you get the feeling the gaffer is going to want to change up the team somewhat significantly here.
League wins are vital at this stage and while injuries will dictate some inclusions in the side, I do believe we’re going to see our fair share of changes.
As for Crystal Palace, it’s hard to gauge which way they’re going to play it. They too could consider wholesale changes, or will they name a strong side in hope of trying to go on a cup run of their own?
Anway, let’s get right into the all-important United predicted team for this clash under the Old Trafford floodlights.

There have been whispers suggesting Altay Bayindir will come into the side for his full United debut and it does make sense to see what he’s got.
Diogo Dalot will play at right-back by default as he’s the only fit right-sided defender we have. The same goes for Sergio Reguilon over on the left. This feels like a good time to give minutes to both Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire. Who’d have thought we’d be saving Jonny Evans for a league game, eh?
Sofyan Amrabat is no doubt chomping at the bit to make his first start. He will be granted his wish here, alongside Mason Mount who makes his return from injury after being spotted in training. Christian Eriksen plays in a role further up the field. Not only is he better as a creator, though it also limits his defensive duties which is a weakness.
Anthony Martial has been used sparingly this season, though this could be an opportunity to see whether he can become a key contributor. To his right and left respectively will be youngsters Facundo Pellistri and Alejandro Garnacho.
