Winger Antony will not be leaving Man United anytime soon, despite recent rumours suggesting otherwise.
Manchester United have had on-field struggles, off-field issues and injuries galore. Their start to the season has been as disastrous as I can ever remember. Erik ten Hag has to front up and own some of the blame, though it’s not all his own fault.
Club ownership remains in doubt, while some players have some personal problems that’s likely distracting them. Jadon Sancho is completely out of the fold, as is Mason Greenwood after a tough summer of decision-making on that front.
Then you have Antony. He’s still in the midst of a legal battle with a former partner. No doubt that’s having an impact on the Brazilian mentally.
Earlier this week, there were reports suggesting that Antony could be up for sale, with a move back to his homeland potentially in the offing.
Well, journalist Fabrizio Romano has seemingly quashed those rumours pretty quickly. According to his information, the possibility of the United player sealing a transfer away, back to Flamengo or any other Brazilian club, is ‘not even being considered’ despite his recent struggles.
There are no plans for a loan deal, no chance of a swap deal happening, or any other outbound transfer. Romano also adds that Jadon Sancho is still expected to depart in January.

I can’t say I’m surprised. There was no way that Antony was going to leave the Premier League at this stage – purely for financial reasons.
Yes, he has been struggling right now, but United were better with him in the team last season. We have to remember that.
First of all, it’s about getting those off-field issues sorted. Then, he can get back to focusing solely on his football and proving his worth to this United side.
He does have some on-field problems that need addressing. Working on a right-foot of some description would be a massive help. That, in turn, would allow him to become more unpredictable, adding extra goals and assists as a result.
I still think it’s too soon for the Reds to give up on the former Ajax man, though.
