The club have provided a further injury update on the availability of both Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund after the 1-0 win over Luton Town.
Manchester United’s injury problems continued in their last game, with the Red Devils losing both Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund. One player went down in either half, leaving Erik ten Hag sweating on their fitness.
The gaffer stated that it’d take an additional 24 hours to get an accurate timescale as to how long we should expect the Danish duo to be out for. Well, now we have our answer…
The official club website provided a further injury update on the pair, who will not be travelling away with Denmark for international duty.
First up, United are set to be without Eriksen for a month with the knee injury he suffered in the first half. The ex-Spurs man will miss about a handful of games with this issue, leaving the Old Trafford side somewhat light in the middle of the park.
On the flip side, this could provide Mason Mount with an opportunity to start games with regularity, after being made to sit and watch from the bench in recent weeks. Personally, I think this could be a blessing in disguise for Ten Hag.
Then we have Hojlund, who suffered a muscle strain late on in the game against Luton. He worked hard during that match but it just wasn’t his day in front of goal as he searches for a first Premier League strike. He is expected to return before the end of November. United take on Everton on the 26th and Galatasaray on the 29th. I’d imagine the latter is his more likely return date.
Anthony Martial has been waiting for his chance to shine, with the Frenchman having a pretty good record against Everton. This could be his moment to make a real case for regular starts.
Get well soon, lads.
