Man United have eyes on Bayer Leverkusen defender, Jonathan Tah.
Manchester United are now conceding far more goals than they did last term. It doesn’t help when Lisandro Martinez is out injured until 2024, while Raphael Varane is now starting to struggle.
Erik ten Hag could look to make a move in the transfer market in order to help fix those issues, with several names linked with a potential Old Trafford switch. None more so than Jean-Clair Todibo.
Now, The Sun have thrown a new name into the mix; Jonathan Tah.
The Bayer Leverkusen man has always been mentioned by the media in regard to a potential move, but he’s yet to depart from the German club. This time, though, his contract is winding down with just eighteen months left.
United are among the club who ‘like the look’ of the 27-year-old centre-back. West Ham United and Newcastle United are also keen, with the latter seemingly leading the charge at this juncture.
Eddie Howe could look to replace the injured Sven Botman in January, with a move for the heavily experienced Tah.
Leverkusen could be forced into parting with their prized asset if a big enough offer comes in during the January transfer window. This is where a problem could arise for United. Money is tight at this point, so I’d be surprised if they can find enough funds to persuade the German club into parting with Tah.
If there’s any possibility of getting a deal done, this would be an excellent piece of business. Tah is a great footballer who’d add more quality to the defensive line, while he’d also bring more leadership qualities to an area of the field that needs it.
