Man United have not given up in their pursuit of Michel Olise, with the Reds still trying to sign the winger.
Manchester United Football Club have not yet made a signing this summer, though it does feel like the Old Trafford side is slowly progressing in that regard.
Erik ten Hag has been looking at additions in a variety of positions, including in the right-wing slot. Antony struggled. Jadon Sancho will (hopefully) no longer be here when the season starts, while Alejandro Garnacho is far better off the right.
Among the names linked with filling that void is Michael Olise. However, Bayern Munich swooped in and took charge of the race to sign the Crystal Palace man.
It looked like a deal to send Olise to Bavaria was pretty much done, though journalist Florian Plettenberg believes United have not given up on signing the exciting 22-year-old just yet.
According to his information, United are ‘trying to hijack’ the transfer, though a move looks unlikely as Olise himself wants to sign a long-term deal with Bayern Munich. The German giants are doing their best to finalise a deal ‘quickly’ in order to end all speculation.

🚨🔴 Been told that the transfer of Michael #Olise to FC Bayern is not in jeopardy at this stage!
⚠️ Bayern want to finalize the deal as quickly as possible. Because many clubs are trying to hijack the transfer, including Manchester United. But Olise remains clear as he wants… pic.twitter.com/JOLHbQyzPk

It looks like Olise is still dead-set on joining Bayern, which is fair enough. United aren’t the only side trying to push to bring in the winger, though it’s going to take a mighty effort in order to convince the Palace man his future lies away from the German giants.
In our opinion, this would be a massive waste of time and resources. It’d likely mean a massive overpay in terms of weekly wage, which is something United are actively trying to avoid under the ownership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.
Yes, Olise would have been an unreal piece of business, but it’s time to move on.
