Per transfers journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich and Jonathan Tah are both committed to coming together this summer. The Bayer Leverkusen center-back, who is currently starring at the EUROs, would become the Bavarians’ second signing at center-back if he joins, and signal major winds of change in a backline that is already crowded.
Romano posted on Twitter:
Bayern are preparing new bid for Jonathan Tah as they keep pushing on this deal.
The player has been clear, he only wants to join Bayern.
Negotiations between Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen to continue, full focus on Tah and no talks for Levi Colwill who’s key for Chelsea. pic.twitter.com/IDr7C9QYBC

With Die Werkself reportedly open to the sale it looks like only a matter of time.
BFW Analysis
This remains Bayern’s most befuddling rumored move in this year’s summer transfer window — but it cannot be said that a signing of a starting Germany center-back is unimaginable for the German Rekordmeister.
However, Tah is 28, and while he has been Julian Nagelsmann’s preferred choice when available, he is neither the national team’s best defender — that is Real Madrid’s Antonio Rúdiger — nor best leader (again, Rüdiger), nor best ball-player. In the latter category, Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck (24) demonstrated his bona fides in the Round of 16 knockout against Denmark with a superb assist for Jamal Musiala, and even VfB Stuttgart defender Waldemar Anton could have a better claim to the title.
So how much would Tah give for Bayern over what they already have in Matthijs de Ligt (24), Dayot Upamecano (25), and Kim Min-jae (27)? Maybe the finances will reveal the reason for all the machinations.
