West Ham United face a big problem, with 25-year-old attacker apparently very keen to join Liverpool.
West Ham and Liverpool are at opposite ends of the spectrum right now, with the Reds topping the Premier League and the Hammers languishing in mid-table.
Julen Lopetegui has made a slow start to life at the London Stadium, and it was recently claimed that the Spaniard’s job is already at risk.
One of the main criticisms of Lopetegui, and Tim Steidten for that matter, has been his failure to bring a top-class centre-forward to the club in the summer.
Sure, West Ham signed Niclas Fullkrug, but as things stand, it seems like we got that one all wrong, although it’s too early to judge him in all fairness.
The Hammers fans wanted an explosive young forward with blistering pace – someone like Jhon Duran.
There were other options out there as well, and one of them appears to be on our radar ahead of the January window.
However, Liverpool could be set to cause us a very big problem.
West Ham problem as 25-year-old dreams of joining Liverpool
Eintracht Frankfurt hitman Omar Marmoush is dreaming of a move to Liverpool according to a feature report from Sport Bild (print edition October 16th, pages 32+33).
And to make matters worse, the Merseyside outfit are keen to sign him as well.
Now, that’s a blow for the Hammers because it was recently claimed that he is ‘likely to join West Ham’ in the January transfer window.
Marmoush has absolutely everything that the Hammers lack right now, what with blistering pace, incredible movement and superb finishing ability.
Described by the Bundesliga’s official website as ‘exceptional’, Marmoush really does have it all.
The Egyptian sensation, 25, has bagged nine goals and six assists in just nine games for Eintracht Frankfurt so far this season.
Last term, he racked up an impressive 17 goals and six assists in 41 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
I believe that Omar Marmoush would be a sensational signing for West Ham, so the fact that he’s reportedly dreaming of a move to Liverpool really is a killer blow for us.
Hopefully the Hammers transfer team manage to pull something out of the bag in January, and convince the Egypt international to move to the London Stadium instead of Anfield.
